Respite Services allow family members
who are primary caregivers for HCS consumers to have time away from
their responsibilities. Designed mainly for HCS consumers receiving
supported home living, Respite Services may
include:
- Introducing respite staff into the usual living situation
- Providing short-term residential placement for up to 30
days
- Providing places for the individual to go during the day
Respite Services allows the parents/guardian or primary
caregiver to conduct other necessary activities such has obtaining
medical treatments, traveling, attending educational or training
seminars, interviewing for a new job, performing home maintenance/
repair or engaging in other non-care giving activities.
D&S Residential offers Respite Services in all of its
service areas.
