and grooming.

routes, libraries, churches, parks, sports complexes, and
shopping centers.
- meet and interact with other people in the community on a
routine basis.
Day Habilitation helps individuals
- learn and improve self-help skills like anger management,
relaxation
techniques, and healthy exercise.
- improve social skills such as proper etiquette and personal
hygiene.
- acquire job-readiness and life skills to improve success at
work and
school.
Employment Assistance helps individuals identify
- employment preferences about the type of work desired.
- job skills they have or need to develop.
- requirements and conditions for the work setting.
- potential employers with matching job opportunities.
Supportive Employment helps individuals with special
activities and training designed to help them keep their job and
maintain a good working relationship with their employer.
Respite Care allows family members who are primary
caregivers for TxHmLiv individuals to have time away from their
duties and responsibilities to conduct personal business.
D&S Residential Services also offers
various
health-related services that are included in the Texas Home Living
Program
Nursing Care
Whether it’s for an illness or for ongoing nursing support, D&S
staff can provide “in-home” nurse visits to help manage health
problems and to monitor current medications.
Dental Care
Our staff can arrange for and schedule appointments for individuals
at local dental facilities to receive necessary dental care and
ongoing treatments.
Adaptive Aids
D&S staff members can coordinate with your doctor and/or therapist
to help locate the proper aids that help make daily activities
easier and more fulfilling.
Minor Home Modifications
The normal house is often not set up to make everyday activities
easy for persons with special needs. Our staff can perform an
evaluation of your current residence and identify solutions such as
ramps, enlarged showers, grab bars, or wider door openings that will
assist in making daily life simpler and easier.
Specialized Therapies
Our staff can arrange for treatments from physical therapists,
occupational therapists, speech therapists, audiologists, or
dieticians as ordered by your physician.
Behavioral Support
Staff members can work with an assigned physician or psychiatrist to
develop specialized plans and techniques to improve behavioral
problems.
All services are subject to eligibility
requirements and IPC authorization levels.
