| The National Family Caregiver Support Program (NFCSP)
provides in-home and community based respite services to family
caregivers along with information, referral, limited counseling
services and in-home caregiver training services. Priority is to
be given to older individuals and families with the greatest social
and economic need, with particular attention to low-income older
individuals and older individuals caring for persons with mental
retardation and/or developmental disabilities.
Eligibility for this program is caregivers of persons over age 60
and Grandparents or other senior relatives who are the primary
caregivers of children not more than 18 years of age.
The funding source for this program is the Federal Older American
Act and the State of Tennessee.
D&S Community Services provides Homemaker Services and Personal
Care Services under the National Family Caregiver Support Program in
southeast Tennessee.
