| The Older Americans Act of 1965 (also called Title III) was
implemented in Tennessee to provide an array of supportive and
nutrition services for persons 60 and over.
Services funded through this program are designed to allow older
persons to reside in the community and in their own homes with the
maximum amount of dignity for as long as possible.
OAA funded services are targeted to older individuals with the
greatest economic need, with particular attention to low-income
minority individuals, those with the greatest social needs, and
those residing in rural areas.
D&S Community Services provides Homemaker Services and Personal
Care Services under the OAA Program in southeast Tennessee.
