Tennessee Valley Fair in Knoxville
Fair Day 2009
Many kudos to all the staff that helped make our annual Fair Day a success! Thanks to our dedicated staff, the individuals at D&S had a great time at the Tennessee Valley Fair in Knoxville.
The Fair annually entertains over 130,000 people with live entertainment, rides, exhibits, tractor pulls, demolition derbies, lawn mower races and other competitions, as well as a large variety of great fair food.
The day started with everyone enjoying a picnic that included chicken, potato salad and baked beans. We then went and saw all the attractions. The petting zoo was a hit. After the attractions came the rides. The Fair had everyone smiling from the excitement; it was hard to leave at the end of the day.
We had several individuals who wouldn’t have been able to ride any of the rides if it hadn’t been for some of our male staff who transferred them out of their wheelchairs onto the rides. D&S is very proud of these employees for helping make the day at the Fair a success for everyone.
Of course no Fair is complete without cotton candy and candied apples. Judging from the smiles on sticky faces, everyone enjoyed the treats.
Getting to see the individuals laughing and having so much fun helps us all remember why we enjoy being with these wonderful folks.
Were already looking forward to Fair Day 2010!!
