Buddy Walk

Buddy Walk

The Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas sponsored the Buddy Walk this year in Georgetown Texas.

D&S Residential Services in the Austin area had the honor of participating in the 10th annual Buddy Walk on Sunday October 25th, 2009.

We had a beautiful day in Georgetown TX with just enough clouds to keep the sun from scorching us and a breeze to keep us cool.

Elvis and Hannah Montana (impersonators) made an appearance and brought great music to a crowd of hundreds of people dancing and having a great time. Helicopters stopped in and demonstrated medical technology at its best. Festivities such as ring toss, face painting, petting zoo, miniature horses and even a silent auction kept everyone busy and entertained.

We all joined together for the 1 mile Buddy Walk to show support and promote awareness and inclusion for people with Down Syndrome.

This was truly a heartwarming experience that we look forward to every year.

The vision of the Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas is a world in which all members, including those with Down Syndrome are accepted, valued for their uniqueness, respected for their abilities and contributions, and assured the opportunity and choice to create their own path to fulfillment and success.
